Goseong Educational Library

Goseong Educational Library is the northernmost public library in the Republic of Korea. It occupies a site area of 1,481㎡ and has a two-story above-ground building with a total floor area of 707.71㎡. It has 175 seats and holds 126,589 books. The first floor houses the General Materials Room, where visitors can browse and borrow various books, magazines, and newspapers for children and general readers. The Digital Materials Room provides video materials and internet information search services. The second floor is equipped with a Culture and Education Room for lifelong education programs and club activities, as well as facilities for self-study. The programs operated by the library include reading culture programs such as Librarian Reads Aloud [Saturday with a Story], as well as reading clubs for everyone from children to adults. Lifelong learning programs include [Family Saturday Experience], which mainly focuses on hands-on activities, and [Cultural Activities Classes], held separately in the first and second halves of the year. The Cultural Activities Classes offer a variety of programs for enjoyable learning and leisure activities, including art and mathematics, as well as calligraphy and rattan crafts for adults.
