Gangneung Danoje, one of the representative traditional festivals of the Republic of Korea with a thousand-year history, has seen growing interest in, as well as increased efforts to educate about, protect, and transmit the festival both domestically and internationally since it was designated a UNESCO Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on November 25, 2005. The Gangneung Danoje Promotional Exhibition Hall can be regarded as a central space for its protection, transmission, and promotion.
