This is an independent bookstore and bakery book café in Gangneung. The bookstore’s name is said to express the idea of going again, based on the meanings of GO (to go) and re (again). It is not merely a place that sells books, but a cultural space that captures the city of Gangneung and engages with local residents. Its goals include providing a place where visitors can always find books by writers from Gangneung, introducing local artists active in Gangneung, and hearing from experts in various local fields while considering ways to achieve mutual growth and development. From the first basement level to the fourth floor above ground, the entire building is occupied by Gorae Bookstore, with a well-rounded selection of facilities including an independent bookstore, souvenir shop, bookstore, bakery, café, children’s bookstore, and seminar room.
