Sokcho Culture and Arts Center

The Sokcho Culture and Arts Center, located in Sokcho, is a multifaceted cultural and arts venue that opened on October 10, 1990. Built with one basement level and three above-ground floors, it offers performances and exhibitions in a variety of genres. It consists of a grand theater, small auditorium, exhibition hall, Sokcho Cultural Center, Sokcho Federation of Arts and Culture, Cultural Foundation offices, and other facilities. By hosting customized planned performances and exhibitions tailored to different eras, circumstances, and age groups, the Sokcho Culture and Arts Center contributes to reducing cultural blind spots and polarization. It is also making various efforts to promote the development of local culture and arts and meet the cultural needs of local residents.

Following major remodeling carried out over two years from 2017 to 2018—including the installation of top-level sound and stage systems, the arrangement of comfortable and pleasant seating, and the creation of spaces for communication between performers and audiences—it presents a wide range of high-quality cultural and arts events with nationwide recognition throughout the year.
