Marisorigol Instrument Museum

Opened in 2007 in Seoseok-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, the Marisorigol Instrument Museum is an instrument museum established to promote the excellence of traditional Korean music and serve as a center for its preservation and development. The instruments on display at the museum were purchased by Hongcheon-gun, including pyeon-gyeong and pyeon-jong, as well as instruments used by Important Intangible Cultural Heritage holders and master musicians that were owned by Professor Lee Byung-wook of the Department of Music Education at Seowon University, and instruments donated by instrument craftsmen. In addition to displaying instruments, the Marisorigol Instrument Museum also functions as a multipurpose cultural center offering cultural classes and hands-on programs where visitors can learn about Korean music, including pungmul and dance, as well as small performances and seminars. Various traditional Korean music performances are held at the venue in the center of the exhibition hall, providing a valuable learning opportunity for family tourists traveling with children.
