Why travelers stop here
A small, cozy harbor located near Sokcho Beach in Sokcho, Gangwon-do, not far from Daepo Port. Although it was relatively small and little known because neighboring Daepo Port is so famous, it has now become one of Sokcho’s representative tourist attractions, visited by many people who enjoy fishing and swimming. The beautiful sea views seen from the observatory at Oeongchi Port at sunrise and sunset, along with the warm and romantic lights of the fish-luring lamps floating on the dark night sea, are reasons to visit Oeongchi Port again. Around the harbor are tourist attractions such as Bada Hyanggi-ro and the Oeongchi Port Coastal Trail, where visitors can take a walk while enjoying the sea and beach. Since most Oeongchi residents make their living through fishing, the village and harbor have a local atmosphere and strongly convey the character of a fishing village. In addition, because fishing boats come and go every day, fresh sashimi ingredients can be easily purchased at the lively fish market, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of seafood.
