Jinburi Village-Managed Recreation Area

강원특별자치도 고성군 간성읍 진부리 133

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Jinburi Village-Managed Recreation Area is a naturally formed recreational area with mountains, valleys, and a stream. With the clear, pristine Jinbunyeong Valley, which begins at Hyangnobong Peak at an elevation of 1,296 m, and its dense trees, it is highly popular among summer vacationers. Jinburi Village-Managed Recreation Area is home to native cherry salmon, which inhabit only cold water with temperatures not exceeding 20°C and pristine Class 1 water rich in oxygen. It was designated as a recreational area in July 1998 and operates temporarily each year during the summer season from July to August. Because the village itself may decide whether to operate the area, it is advisable to inquire before visiting. Nearby attractions include the Jinburyeong Art Museum, Jinburi Recreation Area, and the Sodongnyeong Forest Trail. The Sodongnyeong Forest Trail, which has an interesting name, includes a 4.5 km hiking course leading to the Sodongnyeong Village Recreation Area. Visitors can enjoy a forest bathing experience amid dense forests of hundreds-year-old oak and pine trees.
