Goguryeo in Yeoncheon

Sintan-ri Station was the terminus of the Gyeongwon Line until Baengmagoji Station was opened. Around Sintan-ri Station, there are many attractions related to 'the village longing for unification' and many visitors come to Godeasan Mountain. The Horogoru Fortress, Eundae-ri Fortress, and Dangpo Fortress in Yeoncheon are Goguryeo historic sites rarely seen in South Korea. They are defense lines established as Goguryeo, which had advanced to the Han River, retreated to the Imjin River. Excavated in the 2000s, all three sites are still unfamiliar travel destinations.
