Historical Journey Through the Joseon Dynasty and Modern Era

Gwangju, adjacent to Seoul, was home to a concentration of central government-run kilns that produced Joseon white porcelain from the 15th century onward. Currently, 82 Joseon white porcelain-related relics remain, and potters carrying on the legacy of their ancestors are still actively working. The Namhansanseong area, the site of the Byeongja Horan (Manchu invasion of 1636), is popular as a hiking trail in the Seoul metropolitan area, and Paldang Lake, which supplies drinking water to Seoul, boasts a refreshing landscape.
