Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Miho Museum opened in July 2014, encapsulating the history of nature. This place reveals the past and present of the blue planet Earth, telling the story of Earth's history. It houses and displays numerous animal and plant fossils from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras, including stromatolites, the oldest known fossils of life on Earth. It also exhibits mysterious and diverse minerals and insect specimens. Visitors can escape the gray city of the metropolitan area and experience green nature. In Dinosaur Village 1 and 2, featuring petrified wood and dinosaur exhibits, children can befriend nature and dinosaurs. Various exhibition specimens, sensory, and hands-on activities are available.
