2025 Incheon Wondosaje & Nakseom Festival

Since ancient times, our ancestors held rituals to pray for the peace and blessings of the nation and local communities at famous large mountains, rivers, and seas. In the case of the sea, during the Joseon Dynasty, rituals were held in Incheon, Suncheon, and Gangneung. Among them, in Incheon Dohobu, a ritual was held for the god of the West Sea at Wondo (Nakseom). The Incheon Wondosaje is a ritual held in spring and autumn by the local magistrate of Incheon on behalf of the king at a shrine called Wondosa, which was established on Wondo during the Joseon Dynasty, gathering the spirit tablets of various islands. The 2025 Incheon Wondosaje & Nakseom Festival is a festival of Michuhol-gu that combines a ritual reenactment and a harmony street parade village festival.
