Jeongjoksan Mountain

인천광역시 강화군 길상면 온수리

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Jeongjoksan Mountain is named for its shape resembling a three-legged cauldron. Standing at 220 meters above sea level, it houses several historical sites, including Jeondeungsa Temple, the largest temple on Ganghwado Island, and Jeongjoksanseong Fortress. Jeongjoksanseong Fortress, also called Samrangseong, is a stone fortress that legend says was built by Dangun's three sons. The site also contains the remains of a repository that once stored the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. The hike begins on the path behind Jeondeungsa Temple and takes about two hours to reach the summit, where you can enjoy views of Jeondeungsa Temple, Marisan Mountain, and the islands off the coast of Incheon.
