Incheon Japanese Street

인천광역시 제물포구 관동1가

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Japanese Street is a street located near Incheon Station, where traces of the Japanese settlement from the port opening period can be observed. This area, once a Japanese residential district, retains Japanese-style wooden houses and stone buildings, offering a glimpse into the history and culture of modern Incheon. In the early days of the port opening, machiya-style buildings combining shops and residences, as well as nagaya-style row houses, were predominant, followed later by cultural housing-style structures. The remaining Japanese-style buildings are now used as cafes, exhibition halls, and cultural spaces, and the Japanese atmosphere can be felt throughout the street.
